Why 350? 350 is the number that leading scientists say is the safe upper limit for carbon dioxide (measured in "parts per million") in our atmosphere. 350 PPM - it's the number humanity needs to get back to as soon as possible to avoid runaway climate change. We are currently at 387! See 350.org for more details. Why October 24? World leaders are meeting in Copenhagen in December to discuss climate change. We have to send a message that we want strong resolutions. On October 24, over one thousand actions on 350 are taking place in over one hundred countries! How Can I Help? 1) Talk to your friends, family, neighbors, etc. about the number 350. 2) If you are on Facebook, invite friends to the carnival. 3) E-mail us if you would like flyers (hard copy or computer file) to distribute. 4) Make a banner, flag, poster, shirt, cape, or costume for the carnival. 5) Get involved in any of the participating groups.
